Bivouacking involves spending the night in the mountains without a tent, sleeping outdoors with minimal equipment (a sleeping bag and, at most, a bivouac sack).

It is usually done above 2,500 meters in altitude, in rocky and sheltered areas, with the main objective of watching the sunrise from the summit of Mount Teide and making the ascent in the early morning.

In Teide National Park, bivouacking is not camping, but it is regulated: only one night is permitted, with no tents, no fires, no littering, and strict respect for the environment. An official permit is required, even for bivouacking.

It is an intense and transformative experience that rewards the effort with one of the most breathtaking sunrises that can be experienced in the Canary Islands, a clear and deep night sky, full of stars, and the unique sensation of sleeping under the immensity of Teide, in absolute silence and full connection with nature.

Access to Mount Teide requires an administrative permit issued by the National Park. To obtain this permit, you must provide the personal information of all participants in advance. This information will be used exclusively for managing and reserving the official access permit.
